Remus Carey is the father of Ollie Carey and husband of Odette Carey, his disappearance was what brought Ollie back to Guernsey from his course on the mainland.
An agent for Europol, working on secondment to Interpol, he used his boat, the Huffin’ Puffin, as his cover, claiming to be a fishing guide, taking tourists out on fishing trips around the islands. This allowed him to be away from home overnight (when he would claim he has heading out with a night fishing party) and also spend time on the water observing the comings and goings of other craft.
He worked closely with Miles Bichard of the States of Guernsey Police — particularly on the case involving the pan-European smuggling operation that operated between Carteret in France and the Channel Islands.
He was adopted by Sampson.
