Christine Le Page is a police office on secondment to the States of Guernsey Police Force from the neighbouring island of Jersey. She is in her mid-fifties and carrying a little too much weight for her height.
She has a very sharp mind, but does a good job of hiding this when she wants — particularly at times when she’s interviewing suspects or difficult candidates, and she wants them to think they they’re getting one over on her.
Although she is working under Marc Renouf, she was brought over by Miles Bichard, who skewed the selection process in her favour. He wanted to her on the team, working undercover in a position from which she could observe Renouf.
Renouf’s regular deputy, whose position Christine is assuming, was sent over to Jersey in her place, although he isn’t exactly filling her role, since she works in Internal Affairs (a department of the force that investigates the force itself) and while this is not exactly a secret, she and Bichard would rather not draw attention to it if it can be helped.
There is some suggestion that she and Bichard may have been romantically linked in the past although this is now behind them. She is married to Dan and has two children. She and Dan live in a house from which they can see Jersey’s Corbiere lighthouse, although while they’re staying on Guernsey they are living in the house of Dan’s late parents at La Fontanelle in Torteval parish.
