Victor Hugo in Guernsey
Victor Hugo lived on Guernsey for 15 years and wrote some of his most famous work on the island. His home, Hauteville House, is open to the public, and there's a statue of the man himself in Candie Gardens.

It started as a means of keeping track of each character so that their features, loves, desires, abilities, looks and so on didn't change from book to book and has grown to become a complete encyclopedia of the series.
