Frequently Asked Questions
What does The Sarnian mean?
Sarnia is the Roman name for Guernsey. Although it’s no longer the island’s legal name, it’s still in widespread use, particular in business names. A Sarnian, therefore, could be said to be a person who lives on Sarnia. It is also, of course, the name of the newspaper for which Ollie works. It’s up to the reader, therefore, to decide whether The Sarnian in the title of the series is the paper itself, or either Ollie or Remus.
What’s the image behind the Sarnian website pages?
That’s a photo of Pembroke Bay. It’s been softened (quite a lot) to stop it being a distraction when you’re reading the content. You can see the original shot at the top of the Pembroke Bay location page.
