Aurelie Paget works for Interpol at its headquarters in Lyon. She is the head of the French delegation overseeing the investigation into the organ smuggling operation. She works closely with Matthieu Roche. When Remus Carey goes missing in the waters off Sark, she also has responsibility for investigation what might have happened to him.
When Miles Bichard dispatches Christine Le Page to help with the search in book 2, Blowfish, he warns her that Aurelie is:
Very driven, but her focus is on the Consortium to the exclusion of everything else. I need someone in there to look out for Remus Carey.
Remus describes her in his logs, saying ‘She shook her head and her bob, white before its time, twirled about her ears.’ It’s from this description that Christine recognises the woman, although she doesn’t explicitly understand what Aurelie’s role is within the organisation.
